Rise Against Hunger Washington D.C. Metro Area was founded in 2012 and serves the greater Washington, D.C., and Baltimore regions. Through 2016, more than 13,000 local volunteers and partnering organizations, including McLean Rotary Club, Northrop Grumman and Shenandoah University, have helped build the local movement to end global hunger. In this region alone, through 2016, more than 13.8 million meals have been packaged to benefit 16 countries.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are always looking for volunteers to come to our warehouse and help with preparing meals to go out on shipments and to help us with upkeep and cleaning equipment. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Joe Gautier at

Washington D.C. Metro Area Local Advisory Board

The Rise Against Hunger Washington D.C. location is supported by local advisory board members Beth Konkoski and Joyce Lynn.

Partner Spotlight

The McLean Rotary Club and McLean community has been an amazing partner of Rise Against Hunger Washington D.C. for over seven years. This group and community has year after year continued to put their time and resources into helping us in our goal of ending hunger. To date, they have packaged over 1.9 million meals.

Take Hunger Into Your Own Hands

Meal packaging events offer a powerful way to make a hands-on impact on world hunger. You raise the funds and rally your friends and family as volunteers, and we'll take care of the rest.
